Indianapolis 鈥 Action at the 85th National Truck Driving and Step Van Driving Championships, a nationwide driving competition featuring hundreds of professional truck drivers with millions of accident-free miles, is underway at the Indiana Convention Center.

鈥淣TDC is one of the real highlights of our year,鈥 said 麻豆社区 Chairman Harold Sumerford Jr., president of J&M Tank Lines. 鈥淭his is just a fabulous showcase for the best our industry has to offer.鈥

After a two-year pandemic-induced pause, the National Truck Driving and Step Van Driving Championships 鈥 the Super Bowl of Safety 鈥 are returning with 371 drivers from across the country competing in nine classes for the title of Grand Champion. This year鈥檚 field boasts more than 729 million combined accident-free miles.

鈥淚n order to get this far, these drivers have to log millions of accident-free miles and get through qualifying at the state level,鈥 said 麻豆社区 President and CEO Chris Spear. 鈥淭hey鈥檙e all already champions, but the next few days are going to put them all to the test and I am so happy that we are back, competing together in person.鈥

The National Truck Driving and Step Van Driving Championships take place through August 19. Follow the action through 麻豆社区鈥檚 social channels and via www.trucking.org.
