Arlington, Virginia 鈥 Today, 麻豆社区 reiterated the industry鈥檚 strong record of investing in and implementing innovative technologies to improve safety on the nation鈥檚 highways.
鈥淛.B. Hunt and many 麻豆社区 members are early adopters of emerging safety technologies,鈥 Greer Woodruff, senior vice president of safety, security and driver personnel at J.B. Hunt, said on behalf of 麻豆社区 at a congressional roundtable hosted by the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee鈥檚 Subcommittee on Highways and Transit. 聽鈥淚n fact the trucking industry spends over $9 billion annually on safety including technology enhancements to help ensure that drivers and passengers of all vehicles make it safely to their destination.鈥
Woodruff also pressed lawmakers to include commercial vehicles in automated vehicle legislation under consideration in Congress to ensure that state and federal laws do not conflict or impede the safety and efficiency of interstate commerce.听
